Hello there!

My name is Jose Alfredo Santiago. I was born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y. I'm a digital artist and author who enjoys dabbling in all forms of art and media. Life is full of challenges and obstacles that shape who we are. I welcome each one, and in doing so, I grow as a person and an artist.

Not enough info you say... Okay. Where do I begin? Ah yes. Let's go down memory lane together and discover more about, Jose. There was a time when I was a boy, I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoon shows until about noon.

 

​During that time frame, I would be transported to a new world with action and adventure every twenty-five minutes or so. But my world transportation did not only end on Saturdays, it would continue as soon as I raced home from school as well. The 80s cartoons I have a fond for are He-Men and the Masters of the Universe, ThunderCats, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Silver Hawks, Voltron, Centurions and many more. I have to thank the creators, animators, voice actors, and everyone involved in making these shows a reality for sparking my interest in animation, drawing, special effects, movie-making, and wanting to be part of a creative team.

 

As I hit my teens and adulthood, my love for cartoons did not stop there. It expanded into video games, action figures and movies. Shows like Disney's Gargoyles, X-Men, Reboot, Beast Wars: Transformers; video games like Metal Gear Solid (1998), Final Fantasy VII (1997); special effects films like Terminator 2 (1991), The Matrix (1999), Van Helsing (2004), and the Star Wars saga are just a few that ignited my curiosity about the entertainment world. I'm forever mesmerized by the craftsmanship that goes into making such content a reality.

 

But what really gave me a push into being a part of this entertainment world was my son, Alex. Out of the blue, he wanted to create a stop-motion animation short using his Lego toys. Not being a pro at this but having a sense of knowledge of the behind-the-scenes process, we embarked in a journey to create our first stop-motion animation short. During the creative process, I found a new desire to educate myself within this new realm I had immersed myself in. Till this day I continue to surround myself with inspirational content like CW's show The Flash, Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra; films like The Lord of the Rings, Edge of Tomorrow, and the list goes on.

 

There you have it, short but sweet. My goal is to work with passionate people in the mass media entertainment industry and to help bring countless hours of joy and inspiration to those who welcome us.
